How it started...

My name is Matt Banning, Managing Director at MB Metalworks Limited, and here is how it all started back in August 2016...

From boots on the ground to Fabrication drawings in hand, my journey began on site labouring for a site fitter. When I became more knowledgable than the guy that was paying me, I soon realised it was time to take the jump and go on my own!

I learnt the trade one weld, one cut, one long day at a time. I didn't just build structures; I built a vision. Driven by passion for precision and a hunger to create, I founded MB Metalworks to bring craftsmanship and reliability to every project. Today, as the Managing Director, I lead a highly skilled team delivering high quality, bespoke metal fabrication with the same hands-on dedication that started it all. We don't just fabricate metal - we forge trust, strength and lasting results.

My Story

What started with a grinder and a welding torch has grown into a company renowned for its quality, integrity, and problem-solving approach. Ive been on the tools, in the trenches, and now at the helm- but my values haven't changed. Every piece we cut, every weld we lay, is a reflection of the hard work it took to get here. This business was built from the ground up, literally, and that is why we treat every job like it's our own. Because in many ways, it is. This isn't just metalwork. It's our craft, our pride, and our story.
